Office Management Tip of the Day:

What I learned about Office Management today was that you always need to be prepared.  Always keep your personal space neat and organized, because things do come up and you or someone else may not be there and someone else might need to come in and continue where you left off.

Time Management Tip of the Day:

A good way to manage your time so that no time is wasted is to have a to-do list.  Prioritize your day and the things that you need to get accomplished, and what time period you have to do it in.

What I learned in class this week!

The most important thing that I learned about is Emergency Preparedness. For example, if the lights go out, it might be a good idea to have flashlights in every office, and maybe just an emergency phone for the office in case the phones do not work. You want to try and keep everyone calm in case of an emergency.

I learned about E-Faxing. This type of fax is done electronically. This is a more confidential way to send faxes that contain private information about patients. Not only is it more confidential, it is more time efficient, and you do not have to wait around at the office for the fax to come in.

We also learned about blogging. How to set it up and maintain it for the class. The public can access this blog, so when you write a blog, it has to be professional, use proper grammar, DO NOT use any profanity in your blog, because it could get you in trouble.

We learned about the office needing to be Ergonomically Correct. This helps with your posture and it reduces the strain on your body from sitting and typing all day.  There are certain measures that you can take to help with this, you can buy chairs, desk, and filing cabinets that are ergonomically correct.
